Sébastien Mariette appointed General Manager Kempinski Hotel Harbour Heights Bahrain and Vice President Operations Bahrain, Kingdom of Saudi-Arabia, Levant and Morocco

The General Manager of the future Kempinski Hotel Harbour Heights Bahrain, which will be opening its doors to first guests by summer 2025, has been appointed: Sébastien Mariette will be at the helm of this prestigious property in the harbour of the capital city of Manama and at the same time will be responsible as Vice President Operations for the Kempinski hotels in Bahrain, the Kingdom of Saudi-Arabia, Levant and Morocco.

A seasoned hotelier, Sébastien Mariette’s history of career with Kempinski Hotels dates back to 2007, when he started as Resident Manager at the Kempinski Hotel Grand Hermitage in Varna, Bulgaria. He then held the position of Executive Assistant Manager at the Djibouti Palace Kempinski before opening and leading several Kempinski branded properties in China. In 2014, Sébastien moved to the Middle East and Africa region where he became General Manager of Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea in Jordan, before being promoted Cluster General Manager for both Dead Sea and Aqaba properties. In 2018, he moved to Dubai where he opened the Emerald Palace Kempinski, of which he was then appointed Managing Director, in charge of Kempinski Residences Palm Jumeirah as well. Sebastien has also held significant roles in Singapore and Egypt, where he managed multiple properties as Area General Manager. Sébastien returned to Jordan in 2021 as Cluster General Manager and subsequently took over the role of Area General Manager for the Levant and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In his journey spanning 18 years with the company, the French national has demonstrated a dynamic business approach that has certainly been reflected in Kempinski’s guests’ experiences and maximised operational profits, while creating a multicultural working environment.

Sébastien holds a MBA in International Hospitality Management from the International Hospitality Management Institute (IMHI) in Paris, a joint venture between Cornell University and ESSEC Business School.
