In honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort is thrilled to announce the return of the popular fundraising event, IGNITE Pink is Punk. This series of engaging, family-friendly events throughout October is designed to raise awareness and support for breast cancer initiatives.
Kicking off the festivities on Saturday, 5 October, the annual IGNITE Pink is Punk Swim will commence at 6 a.m. Participants can register for one of four categories: an open swim and run (600m swim / 3km beach and pavement run), two junior categories for ages 6-11 and 12-16 (200m swim / 800m beach run), and a Fun Run (3km beach and pavement run) suitable for all ages. Teams of two are encouraged to sign up for the open category, and participants are invited to don their best pink attire and fancy dress. All entrants will receive an IGNITE Pink is Punk singlet and goody bag, with opportunities to win exciting spot prizes.
Following the swim/run, join us on 12 October for the IGNITE Pink is Punk Pink Paddle at RIVA Beach. Starting at 6 a.m., this stand-up paddleboarding event features distances ranging from 1km to 4km, welcoming paddleboarders aged 10 and above. Boards are available for rent, and all participants will receive an IGNITE Pink is Punk vest and goody bag, along with chances to win spot prizes.
The campaign concludes on 14 October with the IGNITE Pink is Punk Moonlight Yoga session, set against the picturesque backdrop of Anantara’s beach area. This uplifting, candlelit yoga experience begins at 7:00 pm and is open to participants aged 16 and up, catering to all fitness levels.
Since its inception in 2008, IGNITE Pink is Punk has raised over AED 860,000 for breast cancer-related charities. For the 2024 events, all proceeds will be donated to Brest Friends, in association with the Al Jalila Foundation. The funds will support breast cancer patients and their families, as well as contribute to vital research.
