Sofitel Dubai The Palm is delighted to have been awarded ‘General Manager of the Year’ and ‘Marketing & PR Person of the Year’ at the prestigious 2020 Hotelier Middle East Awards.
The industry awards evening provides a richly-deserved opportunity to recognize and celebrate the most outstanding properties, projects and people in the Middle East’s vibrant hospitality industry. Held on Tuesday 24th November, the awards this year coined the theme “Back to the 80s” perfectly executed with socially distancing measures in place to ensure the safety of the attendees. Having launched 16 years ago, this year over 600 nominations were submitted across 18 categories.
Working through a very difficult year, the entire team at Sofitel Dubai The Palm has managed to navigate through this ‘new normal’ together, ensuring that the hotel stayed open and welcomed guests in a safe and inviting environment during the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, the hotel team developed innovative ideas to minimize operational costs without compromising the quality of service to both the guests and employees during the COVID-19 restrictions.
General Manager, Christophe Schnyder, collected his ‘General Manager of the Year’ accolade and Shamia Abdul Aziz, Head of Marketing and Communications received her award for ‘Marketing and PP Person of the Year’.
