Coffee-roastery experience with Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest

Cigar rolling, a mountain bike truffle tour or a picnic in the Venetian Lagoon: local experiences are tailored to loyal guests in the Kempinski DISCOVERY customer loyalty programme

Whether taking a helicopter flight over Dubai, playing golf with a pro in Turkey, diving in the Red Sea, riding in a horse-drawn carriage in Vienna, visiting nomads in a Mongolian yurt or taking a tour of Singapore in the sidecar of an historic motorcycle: there are more than 600 local experiences around the world available free of charge to members of the Kempinski DISCOVERY customer loyalty programme. Unlike conventional programmes in which members simply convert points into overnight stays, this particular programme also offers them the chance to enjoy special experiences with a unique “Kempinski touch”, closely tied to each destination

The local experiences are divided into various categories and range from action and adventure, art and entertainment or beach and sea, to romantic getaways, family experiences or food and drink. For example, at Gran Hotel Manzana Kempinski La Habana in Cuba, guests can enjoy an evening of exclusive cigars paired with the best rum, while the world’s leading cigar sommelier introduces them to the art and history of cigar rolling. At Kempinski Hotel Adriatic, guests are taken on a three-hour mountain bike tour along the Parenzana, a closed-down railway line between Trieste and Porec, and ends with truffle tasting. At San Clemente Palace Kempinski Venice, situated on a private island in the Venetian Lagoon, guests are offered the chance to go on a picnic with local delicacies and Prosecco in the spacious park around the hotel – complete with picnic basket and blanket – whilst at the new Emerald Palace Kempinski Dubai, guests can ride in a helicopter over the city’s palms and skyscrapers. At Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest, those interested can learn about the art of coffee at 42 Coffee, one of the best roasteries in the city, while the Kempinski Hotel in Chengdu in China offers a tour of the famous Panda Research Base

The aim is to allow the Kempinski ethos to be experienced in a range of different moments,” says Amanda Elder, Chief Commercial Officer of Kempinski Hotels. “These special experiences connect the guest to the local culture and to the nuances of the destination on an emotional level. Quite simply, it takes more than just a comfortable stay to make a visit unforgettable

Depending on whether they are “Platinum Members” (10 or more nights per year) or “Black Members” (30 or more nights per year), guests can choose one of the offers free of charge during their stay according to the number of rewards collected – for many local experiences, guests do not even need to stay at the hotel; they can simply redeem the offer when they are in the respective destination
