The Residence Tunis

Big Adventures for Little Explorers at The Residence Mauritius

In a digital era of smartphones, tablets and a constant stream of social media, families are increasingly stuck indoors and glued to their screens rather than embracing the fresh air and exploring the world around them. This summer, it’s time to unplug, get out of the house and explore the wonders of The Residence Mauritius, making the most of their adventurous activities for the whole family to enjoy

With seas made for swimming, mountains made for hiking and significantly cooler summer climes, families can experience one of the world’s most exciting natural playgrounds, guaranteed to thrill younger travellers as well as offer a fresh perspective to parents. An island that hosts an array of engaging and exhilarating activities, start by learning more about Mauritian history by visiting the interactive Sugar Museum, or for some serious fun and brain teasing, try the unique Curious Corner of Chamarel. For kids who love cute creatures, take a trip to the different animal estates such as the Crocodile & Giant Tortoises Park, Safari and Bird Park or Ile Aux Aigrettes, whist those who like the water can explore the sea with a submarine trip, glass bottom boat outing, dolphins ride or Pirate Boat cruise. There is also hiking in Le Morne for the teens plus visits to Casela-World of Adventures, a 14-hectare nature park with fun and entertaining, adrenaline-packed activities

Back at the resort, a dedicated Kids Club offers a host of engaging and educational activities such as nature walks where little ones can discover local fauna and flora and pastry classes where kids can cook sweet treats with the team of chefs. The hotel also hosts weekly Dodo races, nature scavenger hunts, mud run obstacle races, raft building challenges and their own version of the Mauritian Olympic games where children compete in hopscotch, tug of war, blind fold games and “caisse a savon”. Whilst little ones are kept occupied, weary parents can escape to the spa to indulge in locally inspired treatments all performed at the hands of the expert therapists. Parents and children can also experience a range of activities together including kayaking, fishing and fruit tasting, where everyone is blind folded and tropical fruits are guessed from taste and texture

Once day turns to dusk, families can indulge in a range of activities from watching films from the big screen on the sand complete with popcorn to camping with a bond fire on the beach whilst spoiling themselves with marshmallows and stories telling

Until 30th September 2018, families can receive one complimentary room on Bed & Breakfast basis for up to 2 children (Age 3 to 12 years inclusive), when 2 adults are paying for 1 room or suite. Prices start from AED 2,035 and will be available throughout the summer and Eid
